Rivotril galenika belongs to a class of medicines called  benzodiazepines . Benzodiazepines are commonly used as sedatives or to reduce seizures or anxiety.

Rivotril galenika is used to treat  seizures or fits due to Epilepsy. It also is used to treat involuntary muscle spasms and panic disorder. It helps by slowing down the activity of the nerves in the brain (ie the central nervous system).

Each round, flat, rounded, white tablet, engraved with “ CN ” on “2” on one side and “G” on the other, contains 2 mg of clonazepam mylan. Non-medicinal ingredients:  lactose, magnesium stearate, maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinised starch.

What is Rivotril 2mg used for?

The dose of Rivotril Galenika is determined by the amount needed to control seizures and varies from person to person. It is important that the dose is adjusted to your specific needs to avoid diminished coordination or excessive drowsiness.

The recommended starting dose of Rivotril galenika in adults should not exceed 1.5 mg per day in three doses. It helps reduce drowsiness and other side effects. Your doctor will gradually increase the dose until the seizures are controlled. The recommended maintenance dose for adults is 8 to 10 mg daily in 3 doses.

For children up to 10 years or who weigh 30 kilos or less, the dose is based on body weight.  The starting dose should be calculated as 0.01 mg per kilogram body weight per day to 0.03 mg per kilogram body weight per day, divided into 2 or 3 doses.

The maximum starting dose should not exceed 0.05 mg per kilogram of body weight per day. The doctor will gradually increase the dose until the child’s seizures are controlled. The maintenance dose is usually between 0.1 mg per kilogram and 0.2 mg per kilogram of body weight.

Rivotril galenika can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. Avoid grapefruit juice while using this medicine as it may increase the levels of rivotril 2mg galenika in your blood.

• the myasthenia gravis

What are the possible side effects of this medicine?

The following side effects have been reported by at least 1% of those taking this medicine. Many of these side effects can be managed, and some may go away on their own over time.

Respiration:  Rivotril Galenika may suppress respiration. This effect on breathing may be more pronounced for people with breathing problems, brain damage or who are using other medicines that suppress breathing (eg codeine, morphine). Discuss the risks and benefits of taking galenika clonazepam if you have severe breathing problems.

These symptoms include seizures, irritability, nervousness, sleep problems, restlessness, tremor, diarrhea, stomach cramps, vomiting, memory loss, headache, muscle aches, extreme anxiety, tension, restlessness and confusion.  Kidney function : Kidney failure or kidney disease can cause these medicines to accumulate in the body and cause side effects. If you have kidney disease or impaired kidney function, you should discuss with your doctor how this medicine may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dose and effect of this medicine and whether special monitoring is required.

Lactose intolerance:  Lactose is one of the ingredients in galenika clonazepam 2mg. If you have an inherited condition that makes you lactose intolerant, you should discuss other options with your doctor.

Liver function:  If you have a liver or liver disease, you should discuss with your doctor how this medicine may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dose and effectiveness of this medicine and whether special monitoring is required. People with severe liver problems should not use this medicine.

Memory:  This medicine may harm your memory recently. Contact your doctor if you experience this while using this medicine.

Porphyria:  If you have porphyria, discuss with your doctor how this medicine may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dose and effect of this medicine and whether special monitoring is required.

Seizures:  If someone uses this medicine, seizures may worsen or a new type of seizure may occur. Contact your doctor if your seizures worsen or if the frequency of seizures does not decrease while you are taking this medicine.

Pregnancy:  The use of Rivotril Galenika 2mg during pregnancy may increase the risk of certain birth defects. This medicine should only be used during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Children:  If a child is considering long-term use of clonazepam, discuss the benefits and risks of using clonazepam with the pediatrician. Prolonged use can have an effect on the child’s physical and mental development.

Seniors:  Seniors are at greater risk for sedation and impaired coordination of this medication. This can increase the risk of falls and fractures. Seniors may need lower doses of this medication.
